The battle for the next generation of champions has begun. Ooredoo Nation’s Esports Contender Series Season 2 is officially live, giving Maldivian gamers the chance to earn their spot in the country’s biggest esports event — the Ultimate Gaming Festival (UGF), returning in 2027.
With a MVR 10,000 prize pool per title, the Contender Series features three of the Maldives’ most competitive games:
PUBG Mobile – Battle Royale format
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang – Team vs Team
EA SPORTS FC 26 – Single Elimination
Registrations are open now, with matches starting in October 2025.
The Contender Series serves as the official qualifier for Ooredoo Nation’s flagship esports event, the Ultimate Gaming Festival — the biggest multi-title tournament in the Maldives. The last UGF, held in February 2025, featured an incredible MVR 240,000 prize pool, marking a historic milestone for Maldivian esports.
For aspiring champions, this is the first step toward that stage. Each season of the Contender Series builds the national leaderboard, and the best players from these qualifiers will earn their shot at the next UGF.
